Peugeot has appointed Matthew Weston as the new head of commercial sales, with the mission of working closely with the brand’s partner dealers.
Weston takes on the role of Louise Neilson, who has moved to another role within Groupe PSA.
He brings 25 years of experience in the automotive sales sector, including nearly 15 years within the PSA Group.
During his time in the industry, Weston transitioned from the role of Sales Manager to his most recent role as LCV Project Manager for Peugeot and Citroën.
He is recognized for having played a key role in establishing the position of the Peugeot and Citroën light commercial vehicle ranges. By managing product information in accordance with Groupe PSA’s branding strategy, he has taken charge of a series of key elements, which will be essential in his new role, including: pricing, specification changes and strategy.
The new role will involve close engagement with Peugeot dealers, which is crucial for the brand’s ambition to establish itself as the best high-end generalist brand and deliver an electrified derivative for every model by 2023.
“I am really excited to take on this new role at Peugeot. I have been a part of the PSA family for many years now and have loved every minute of it, so it will be great to get closer to the wider dealer network and support them in realizing our brand’s ambitions.
“We have set ourselves some very strong business goals for the years to come, and I look forward to the challenge of ensuring the Peugeot brand continues to excel,” said Weston.
Peugeot begins its electrification journey with the all-new Peugeot e-208, already available to order. It will be followed by the all-electric e-2008 SUV.
David Peel, CEO of Peugeot UK said: “Matt has an excellent track record with Groupe PSA. He has accumulated a wealth of experience in the automotive sales industry, and we know he will bring the drive and tenacity that we have seen from him over the past 15 years to his new role. Our plan for an electrified lineup is just one of many commitments we’ve made, and Matt’s experience with the company will be a valuable asset in helping us advance our goals.
