Resolution Media and Publishing says it is excited about the appointment of another experienced sales professional as it looks to expand its range of publications and events over the coming year.
Carol Makepeace joined the team behind business t shirts as Middlesbrough-based publishers aim to grow their team and sales in 2023.
She joins Middlesbrough-based Resolution with over 30 years of media sales experience and will work with sales manager Chris Garbutt to develop existing publications and events, as well as develop new products.
Carol began her career working for the Echo of the North group which included Darlington and Stockton times and the Advertiser series of publications, over an eight-year period, covering everything from special features to major accounts throughout the North East region.
She then worked for UK business directories Kompass and British Exports as a sales manager, covering the North of England.
Carol has since spent over 20 years working for the National Farmers Union (NFU) as a sales manager in the North East and North West regions, managing a portfolio of publications and special projects, including leading magazines. British farmer and Producer Magazine.
“Joining Resolution Media and Publishing is a fantastic opportunity,” said Carol, from Durham.
“I have lived and worked in the area all my life and am passionate about working with businesses in the North East and building on the success of Tees Business and the annual awards events.”
Resolution has already unveiled a fourth major event for 2023, the Tees Business Awards, to complement their Tees Businesswomen Awards, Tees Tech Awards and Best New Tees Business Awards.
The company also successfully relaunched This Is Tees Valley earlier this year, an annual national magazine, and aims to launch another annual niche publication in 2023, along with other events.
Carol added: “I am delighted to be joining at such an exciting time and will look to build on the success of print publications and trade awards. Working with such a hardworking and enthusiastic team with ambitious projects is inspiring.
Resolution’s full-time team (above) is supported by a growing team of 15 freelance writers, photographers and designers.
Carol – who joined Resolution to focus on the company’s Tees-based products – follows the recent appointment of Colin Rutherford as Account Director for their Sunderland-based company carry things publication.
Resolution is also currently announcing a new Digital Marketing Manager role to grow the company’s growing digital output across all platforms.
